Weekly Blog - Sp 1/Week 3

It's been a very busy week at Shoreside (and further afield!) with pupils representing our school magnificently both in school and at some external events. Next week is also due to be very busy so read on for more information!

Y2/3 Residential

A group of Year 2 and 3 pupils headed to CHET this week for a brilliant residential. Pupils had a fantastic three days at Crosby Hall enjoying a wide range of activities. Our thanks go to the wonderful team at CHET, as well as the Shoreside staff who ensured it was such a special experience for everyone involved!

Y5/6's Dance at the Festival of Flourishing

Another group of pupils, this time from Year 5 and 6, headed to London on Thursday (22nd January 2026) for the inaugural Festival of Flourishing. Performing in front of hundreds of school leaders, the 12 pupils performed a dance called Common Ground which was inspired by Romeo and Juliet. We were so proud of their incredible dance!

Kids Judge Bett

A representative from Year 6 has been attending Bett today with Mr Beaumont. Bett is the world's largest annual exhibition and global community for education technology. Our Y6 pupil has been a judge in the kids category and helped to award some special prizes. What an incredible opportunity!

Next Week's Events

It is another busy week in school next week.

Chester Zoo - Chester Zoo, our trip for Reception - Year 6, is on Tuesday. Children need to be in full school uniform for this trip but they are allowed to wear trainers or comfortable shoes to walk around the zoo. Children need to arrive in school for 8:15AM so we have time to register the children before we depart. We anticipate a 3:30 arrival time back to school but we will provide further communication on the day. Enrichment Clubs will run from whatever time we return back until 4:15 as usual. Children will not require any spending money for the trip but they will need a packed lunch. As previously advised, we strongly recommend children bring this in a rucksack bag to allow them to carry it easily.

Come and See/Stay and Play - We can't wait to see you on Wednesday in school to enjoy some learning!

Rock Kidz - Children, from Pre Nursery to Year 6, should come to school dressed as a rock star on Friday for Rock Kidz, an incredible musical experience for all pupils! We can't wait! There is a video from another primary school below which shows what happens during the event!

We hope you have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
