Weekly Blog - Aut 1/Week 5
It's been another busy week at Shoreside and we're fast approaching October half term. With only two weeks left of Autumn 1, let's look back over this week!
School Council - Town Hall Visit
Well done to our School Councillors who visited the Town Hall this morning (Friday 9th October) to meet the Mayor of Southport. We are incredibly grateful to her for being so generous with her time and showing our pupils around the building. What a fantastic opportunity for our councillors to learn more about democracy!
Y5/6 Hockey at Formby Hockey Club
A sporting shoutout to our hockey superstars in Years 5 and 6 who went to Formby Hockey Club for a hockey taster session. Pupils loved finding out more about the sport and getting to learn more about the skills and techniques in the game.
Children's University Masterclass
Lots of our pupils enjoyed logging into a Children's University Masterclass this week which was led by Professor Robert Walsh, who is a Professor of Solar Physics at the University of Central Lancashire. We found out so much about space and loved joining pupils from other schools online for this exciting lesson.
Looking ahead...
Pupils will have their school photograph taken a week on Monday and we will send out reminders about this next week. There is also the chance for parents/carers to come and watch their child in a phonics lesson during the week beginning Monday 19th October with the dates listed below.
After School Movie Night
We hope you have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing all pupils on Monday.
